MY SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

WHEN I WAS WORKING IN SEVERAL BUSINESSES I WANTED TO GET MORE EXPERIENCE IN PUBLIC SPEAKING.  SO IN ONE BUSINESS I MET WITH VARIOUS FOLKS TO SELL MY ARTISTIC FOUNTAINS.  I FOUND THAT I ENJOYED SELLING MORE THAN DOING THE ART WORK AS I AM A PEOPLE PERSON NOW. 

I CALLED FOR INTEREST AND WENT TO VARIOUS GIFTS SHOPS TO SHOW PHOTOS OF MY CATALOGUE OF FOUNTAINS.

I ALSO LANDED A PART TIME JOB SELLING HEALTH FOODS IN MARKETS.  I ENJOYED THIS WORK AS I WAS A PAID CONSULTANT TO SEVERAL COMPANIES. AND SPENT MANY HOURS TALKING TO FOLKS ABOUT GOOD HEALTH AND HEALTHY FOODS AND HOW THEY COULD INCREASE THEIR HEALTH AND LONGEVITY.  I GOT IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK FROM FOLKS WHO ENJOYED THESE FOOD SAMPLES.  I MET MANY MANAGERS OF THE GROCERY STORES WHO SEEMED TO LIKE ME THERE.

ANOTHER BUSINESS I HAD WAS SPEAKING WEEKLY WITH A BUSINESS NETWORKING  GROUP  WHERE WE WERE ABLE TO EXPOSE OUR TYPE OF WORK BY SPEAKING TO MEMBERS AND GIVING THEM SOME SAMPLES.  MY WORK WAS AS A LIFE COACH AND IT TOOK ME 3 YEARS TO COMPLETE A COACHING COURSE BY PHONE IN ORDER TO GAIN A COACHING DIPLOMA AFTER 3 YEARS.  I ADVERTISED MY BY CALLING PHONE IN ORDER TO GAIN A COACHING DIPLOMA AFTER 3 YEARS.  I ADVERTISED MY COACHING BY CALLING COMPANY PERSONNEL FOLKS; LEADING TALKS AT LIBRARIES AND FINDING PLACES AS THE BUSINESS MEETING PLACE TO SPEAK TO GROUPS.  OTHER GROUPS I SPOKE TO WERE ROTARY CLUBS, LION'S CLUBS  AND COMMUNITY GROUPS.  THEY GAVE ME GOOD SELF ESTEEM TO MAKE INTERACTIVE PRESENTATIONS .

ANOTHER TYPE OF BUSINESS WAS SPEAKING TO GROUPS ABOUT THE NATIVE AMERICANS OF THIS AREA.  I BECAME USED TO GIVING OUTDOOR LECTURES  TO ELDERHOSTEL  GROUPS AT AT A HEALDSBURG RANCH.  I THEN DESIGNED SOME SLIDE SHOWS  THAT WERE SIMILAR TO MY NATIVE AMERICAN TALKS.  THEY INCLUDED  PHOTOS OF VARIOUS TRIBES AND PLANTS THAT I INTRODUCED TO GROUPS.  I GOT PAID BY LIBRARIES AND RETIREMENT HOMES, AND SOME NATIVE PLANT CLUBS TO SHOW MY SLIDE LECTURES.  PEOPLE GREATLY APPRECIATED THEM.
